San Antonio in Ibiza is well-known for its vibrant nightlife, beaches, stunning sunsets and its harbour. Many people visit each year to soak up the sunshine and party til dawn.

There are plenty of places to stay in the resort from budget accommodation to themed hotels. I’ve put together this guide, based on some of the places I’ve stayed to give you some inspiration.

Read on to find out where’s best to stay in San Antonio, from accommodation in the centre of town to hotels in San Antonio Bay.

Most Instagrammable hotel: NYX Hotel Ibiza

A double bedroom at Hotel NYX in San Antonio.

If you’re looking for a stylish hotel that will make for some incredible Instagram posts then NYX Hotel Ibiza is the one for you. Perfect for girls trips, this hotel has been recently refurbished and is full of plush pink furnishings – think Barbie’s Dreamhouse.

NYX Hotel has a fantastic location in San Antonio Bay, just next to O Beach, so it’s perfect for going to day parties. It’s an adults-only hotel so you won’t find kids messing about in the pool.

Speaking of which, there’s a lovely large pool area which looks out over the bay. For sunset, there’s a bar  and terrace upstairs with a DJ and delicious cocktails so you don’t even need to leave the hotel.

I also found NYX was very reasonably priced compared to some other hotels in San Antonio. We went for half board so breakfast and dinner were included and the food was really tasty and varied with different dishes each night.

Best for girls holidays: Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel

Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel

If you like your hotels pretty and pink then Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel should be right up your street. The outdoor areas are super instagrammable with an art-deco style inspired by Miami Ocean Drive.

There’s a round pastel pink bar as the centrepiece, day beds, and a gorgeous light blue swimming pool. You can choose from a range of suites and rooms, all with Marshall speakers and Smeg fridges with some even having cocktail bars – perfect for pre-drinks.

The most unique thing about this hotel? The Zero Suite!

This room is in the hotel’s lobby and is completely free to stay in for one night. The catch? The walls are made of glass so you might not get as much privacy as you’re used to when staying in hotels.

The location of Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel is a little more out of the way, right at the opposite side of San Antonio Bay to the strip.

Best for Ibiza heritage: Pikes

I couldn’t hide my jealousy when my fiance stayed at Pikes Ibiza for a boys holiday. This iconic boutique hotel is a throwback to old school Ibiza and it’s also the place where the video for Club Tropicana was filmed.

Set in the Ibiza hills above San Antonio, it’s around a ten minute taxi ride from the town. The rooms are Moroccan-inspired with a hint of rock and roll.

Pikes is brimming with heritage and history. It’s an 800-year-old finca that was transformed into a luxury hotel in the 80s by founder Tony Pike and it has welcomed many famous guests over the years including Freddie Mercury, George Michael, and Kylie Minogue.

There are parties and DJs each day and night and residents get automatic guest list entry. There’s also a restaurant which serves a legendary Sunday lunch.

You can also go to Pikes if you aren’t staying there. I went to Pikes on Sundays and it was so much fun.

It’s an older crowd, as you have to be over 27 to go, and the vibe is more feel-good and chill than some of the other Ibiza parties.

The Junior Suite at the Cubanito Hotel in Ibiza

Best for sunsets: Cubanito

Cubanito is a Cuban-themed Instagrammable hotel on the opposite side of San Antonio to the bay. This means it’s in a fantastic position for watching the sunset as it’s just a few minutes’ walk from Cafe Mambo.

The rooms are super cool with en-suite bathrooms, Smeg fridges, ceiling fans and Marshall speakers. Upgrade to a suite and you’ll even have your own bar area, perfect for pre-drinks.

There’s a small but perfectly formed pool area with a bar which serves breakfast as well as meals and drinks throughout the day. I can recommend the nachos and the sangria!

They have a rooftop bar which is great for watching the sunset and they host weekly salsa events here.

Best for nightlife: Marco Hotel Playasol Marco Polo I

Marco Hotel Playasol Marco Polo I is a great hotel right in the thick of things in San Antonio. This adults-only hotel is located close to Eden nightclub in San An.

The hotel has lovely modern rooms, a nice pool area with day beds and a bar. There’s also music round the pool but it’s more laidback than some of the other pool areas.

You can choose to add breakfast to your booking which I would recommend. This saves you a bit of money and stops you having to hunt for something to eat when you’re feeling slightly under the weather.

Best for events: Ibiza Rocks Hotel

If you love a pool party then head to Ibiza Rocks Hotel for some of the best events. This adults-only hotel has a lively pool area with a daily DJ and a bar which serves drinks and meals throughout the day.

It has a central location in San Antonio, just a few minutes’ walk from the West End, the Sunset Strip, and the beach. The rooms are quite basic – not Instagrammable like some of the other hotels in this post – but they’re comfortable and good for groups.

Tickets to events happening during your stay are included in the room price. If you choose a room with a pool view, you can watch some of the acts from here.

Best budget hotel: Hostal Rosell Boutique

There’s no doubt about it, Ibiza is very expensive. If you’re looking to save some money on accommodation and leave more for the clubs then Hostal Rosell Boutique is a great choice.

With a very central location just off the West End strip in San Antonio, this is actually a budget hotel, rather than a hostel as the name suggests. It offers private rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, and there’s a shared lounge and bar downstairs.

Rooms are spacious, clean and modern. Be aware that there’s no pool here but the beach is just a short walk away.

FAQs

Which is the best part of Ibiza to stay in?

If you’re looking to party then San Antonio or Playa d’en Bossa are the best places to stay. Not only do they have their own bars and clubs but they also have good transport links to some of the other clubs on the island.

You could also stay in Ibiza Town for a stylish stay. If you’re travelling with your family, you may want to choose a resort like Portinatx, Santa Eulalia, or Cala Llonga instead.

In a word – yes. San Antonio Bay is pretty lively, however, it is a little more laidback than San Antonio. Hotels here are usually set back and so not too noisy.

Which is better: San Antonio or San Antonio Bay?

It really depends what you’re looking for as to where you choose to stay. Whether you choose San Antonio or San Antonio Bay, they are right next to each other so you can easily get between the two.

I prefer staying in the bay to staying near to the West End in San Antonio just because it’s slightly quieter.

Any tips for booking accommodation in San Antonio?

The best tip I can give is book early! The prices are usually cheaper the further out you book and San Antonio gets really busy, especially during the summer months.

Booking early helps you save money and ensure that you get the hotel you want.
