So, if you’re planning on partying abroad this year, here’s my roundup of the best nightlife in Europe. All of these places offer some exciting party venues to keep you going well into the night (and day if that’s what you’re into!).

Groups of people watching the sunset at Cafe Mambo in Ibiza

Ibiza

We couldn’t talk about nightlife in Europe without talking about its Balearic Island party capital. Yes, that’s right – the White Isle, Ibiza, is number one on my list of places to party this year.

The best thing about Ibiza is that it has bars, clubs, and beach clubs suitable for any age, so you can keep partying as long as you like.

Some of my favourite places on the island include beach club O Beach, nightclub Amnesia, and watching the sunset on the rocks by Cafe Mambo in San Antonio. Read more of my Ibiza recommendations here.

Chalkboard sign for Doblo - the most beautiful wine bar in Budapest

Budapest

You can find some of the best nightlife in Central Europe in the beautiful city of Budapest, Hungary. A Budapest stag do or hen do is an excellent choice for a group of friends as the drinks are cheap and there’s a friendly atmosphere.

Head to one of the ruin bars like Szimpla Kert to get the party started. Ruin bars are neglected buildings that have been turned into cool bars.

Szimpla Kert holds live theatre, concerts, and a flea market in the courtyard selling second-hand vinyl and vintage clothing.

For a more chilled-out scene, try Doblo, the most beautiful wine bar in the city. Not only can you try plenty of different wines, but they also have live acoustic music in the bar.

The Temple Bar in Dublin, decorated for Christmas

Dublin

Dublin is a wonderful city for sightseeing, but it’s also well known for its vibrant nightlife. Every tourist in Dublin has to put Temple Bar at the top of their list for a pint of Guinness, and there are plenty of other bars and clubs around here to try out.

For cocktails, head to VCC (Vintage Cocktail Club), a secret speakeasy that serves a range of delicious cocktails and bar snacks.

Anne’s Bar and Hardware is a great little bar. They have live music and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Prague

Another Central European favourite, Prague is a destination that’s suitable no matter what kind of nightlife you’re looking for. The city is home to stylish bars, traditional pubs, and impressive clubs.

Again, Prague is a relatively cheap destination which makes it a popular choice for going away with groups of friends. Of course, you have to try the beer which Czechia is well known for.

Start your evening with a glass of wine at Terasa U Prince, a rooftop terrace that overlooks the city. The best time to visit is during sunset when you’ll get spectacular views of some of Prague’s landmarks.

Amsterdam sign

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is well known for its eclectic party scene. It’s famous for its pub crawls, coffee shops, and, of course, the red light district.

It has clubs to suit every taste and some awe-inspiring venues from former bunkers to old primary schools.

Head to the seventh floor of a former newspaper office, and you’ll find Canvas, one of the coolest clubs in Amsterdam. Take your drink outside to enjoy some spectacular views across the city.
