When to wear thermal trousers
I love a bit of extra warmth when the temperature drops and I wear my ACAI thermal trousers throughout winter. Not only are they great for winter hiking, but I also wear them for horse riding, watching football, and just to keep warm when the weather is cold outside.
Because of their flattering fit, they don’t look too “outdoorsy,” so you won’t look out of place if you wear them when travelling or sightseeing, especially in colder countries. They come in a variety of colours including muted colours like blacks and greys and more vibrant colours like pine and steel blue.
I wore mine every day when I went to Iceland in winter and the soft fleece lining inside made sure I was snug. The fleece lining is also sweat wicking, so you won’t get too warm once you start walking.

One thing that I love about ACAI’s thermal trousers is their amazing fit. I find that a lot of women’s hiking gear can be baggy or shapeless, whereas ACAI’s thermals are contour to your shape for a flattering fit.
As with all ACAI trousers, I usually size down for a better fit. I’m also on the shorter side so it can be difficult to find trousers which fit length-wise.

These thermals are water-resistant so they’re perfect for anything outdoors, especially in the UK where the weather is very changeable. If you get caught in a shower, there’s no need to worry as the water just runs right off.
Even if you get caught in heavy rain, the trousers dry super quickly so you’re comfortable again in no time.
They’re also wipe clean. I love this feature because it means that when you’re travelling you can re-wear them several times without needing to wash them which is useful if you’re not taking much luggage.
ACAI trousers are also durable. I’ve done plenty of scrambling in mine and they haven’t torn or pulled at all.
The four-way stretch material means that they are super comfortable when walking and can stretch with you if you need to scramble or climb. They come in a variety of stylish colours and I have three pairs – steel blue, forest green, and aubergine.

Is ACAI true to size?
I would say that ACAI trousers are slightly on the larger side. I tend to size down when I’m buying them.
