My travel plans 2017

2017 travel
I love looking ahead and looking forward to holidays and so I’m already starting to plan my trips for 2017.

Last year I was lucky enough to be in New York for New Year’s Eve and this year I’ll be in (old) York! I’m looking forward to eating a delicious meal at Sutlers Bar, popping the champagne at midnight and then mooching round York’s attractions on New Year’s Day, all with my boyf. And, of course, I’ll be nipping into the Mulberry shop whilst I’m there.

I’m visiting Southease for the Live The Adventure Club Travel Summit. Unfortunately YHA South Downs where the summit is being held is all full up that night so I’ll be staying at the rather plush YHA Brighton.

Edit 5/1: Rome

I surprised my boyf for his birthday with a trip to Rome! We’re going on Monday for four days and we’re looking forward to seeing the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain and lots more. I bought a guide book and it looks as if there’s SO MUCH to see – and that’s not even counting the three Ps – pizza, pasta and prosecco! I’m super excited as I’ve never visited Italy before so it will be another one to tick off the list.

It’s my wonderful BFF’s birthday on Valentines Day so the girls will be heading over to Liverpool to drink some champagne and dance on the tables. We’ll be hostelling once again as we’re staying at YHA Liverpool for the night. If you’ve got any recommendations for great spots for the night (our favourite places are the ones where we can have a little dance but book a table for when our feet get sore!) then pop them in the comments below.

Edit 2/2: Tenerife

We’ve booked a last minute holiday to the four star Grand Muthu Golf Plaza Hotel in Golf del Sur, Tenerife. We’re going all inclusive as we just want to chill BIG TIME and eat and drink everything! I’m very much looking forward to getting some sun.

Have a look at my Tenerife outfit diary here.

Absolutely no travel plans as of yet for March but it is my birthday so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to sneak in a weekend away somewhere!

Ramsey Lodge

Edit 2/2: Bluestone Wales*

We’re heading to Bluestone Wales in Pembrokeshire for a Monday to Friday mini-break. We’ll be staying in a luxury lodge and there’s even the Blue Lagoon waterpark to keep us entertained! I’m looking forward to a week of walking and then relaxing – we’ll be taking the iPad for Netflix and doing a big shop before we go so we can self-cater before snuggling up at night time.

Portugal villa

Ah yes, the annual family trip to Portugal! As usual, we’ll be staying in the Algarve (this time in Gale) for a week in a lovely Villa Plus villa which will have it’s own pool, pool table and table tennis table. It’s a week of R n R where I’ll be expecting to do some sunbathing, reading, eating and not a whole lot else.

One of my best friends gets married in Sheffield in May and I can’t wait to see her walk down the aisle. A wedding is a good excuse to have an evening away so we’ll be staying at the Mosborough Hall Hotel where the wedding will be.

Edit 5/1: Padstow

My boyfriend’s lovely brother and his lovely wife have invited us to join them for a couple of days on their holiday in Cornwall this year. I’ve been wanting to visit Cornwall for a really long time so I can’t wait. I’m hoping to have a surfing lesson and visit one of Rick Stein’s restaurants.

Edit 10/6: July

Travelodge Derby

Travelodge, Derby*

We’ve been invited by Travelodge to try out their new hotel in Derby. Although Derby’s quite close to us, it’s a little bit too far to get a taxi on a night out so we’ll be having a delicious meal somewhere and quite a few drinks. Looking forward to trying out the hotel’s all you can eat breakfast too!

LA and San Francisco

Ok, so a trip to the west coast of the USA was on the cards for us this September but we’ve decided to forego this trip and save up for Australia in January 2018 which I am BEYOND EXCITED ABOUT as it has been number 1 on my travel wishlist for as long as I can remember. In the meantime we may plan a cheap sunny holiday* to Greece or somewhere similar in Europe in its place as I can’t go for longer than six months without any sun!
