The Lost Property Charity Shop
Vintage is all in right now. In fact it’s so in that I can’t believe anyone buys anything brand new anymore. It seems that the very best things come from the past and there are some really amazing finds out there. From designer to one of a kind pieces, the very best thing about buying second hand is that you definitely won’t be seen in the same outfit as anyone else.
YHA London St Paul’s is a London-based Youth Hostel located next to the cathedral itself in the old school for the choir boys. They’re holding a Lost Property Charity Shop to raise money for the YHA’s Breaks for Kids charity which raises money to give disadvantaged children opportunities and experiences.
This is the second annual event of this kind which sees a Pop-Up Charity Shop open in the building itself. Clothes, jewellery, shoes, bags and everything in between that has been left behind by guests in 2013 or kindly donated by travellers who over-shopped on the high streets and had to leave some of their belongings behind will be available to the discerning customer.
With YHA believing strongly in good old fashioned charity shop prices, it’s a fantastic chance to grab an absolute bargain!
Ok, so I know what you may be thinking. If people have left it behind, it can’t be that great, right? WRONG! From Rayban sunglasses to Vans to Topshop jeans, some amazing stuff has been left behind by some of the coolest people in the world – backpackers! Just a look at the poster will give you some sort of idea of what you can expect.
I love the fact that everything you buy will have some sort of exciting back story that you will know nothing about – it could have come from the other side of the world or from just down the road – who knows?
Pop down for a rummage on 7th September from 12 – 4pm and make sure you let me know what you buy.
