It’s time for a staycation*
It’s important that everyone has the chance to get away every so often. After all, life can get pretty stressful at times and no one could possibly deal with it without taking a break at least once in a while. Of course, there are a lot of people who simply can’t afford to take some incredible round the world trip every time they need a holiday. Well, that’s where a staycation is absolutely perfect. The idea behind a staycation is pretty simple; the clue is in the name after all. It’s a holiday that you take without having to leave the country and incur any of the costs and inconveniences that often come with flights, changing money, and everything else involved with traveling internationally. There are some people who would say that you couldn’t possibly get the same kind of amazing holiday by staying in the country than you would if you went abroad, but that’s utter nonsense. There are so many amazing things to do in the UK, no matter what your interests are. For example, there are plenty of great shopping destinations in England if you’re a shopaholic. Perhaps you’re interested in visiting a place of heritage or a castle? If so, there are plenty of great options for you too. If you enjoy hiking, Wales has some of the best walks in the world. A staycation doesn’t have to be boring! Here are just a few of the places where you can have an incredible trip without ever leaving the UK.
The Lake District
If you’re the outdoorsy type, then the Lake District is likely to be the perfect destination for you. One of the most picturesque destinations not just in the UK but the world, the Lake District is exactly the place that you need if your idea of a getaway is strapping on your hiking boots and getting a lungful of some clean, fresh air. Whether you want to scale the UK’s highest mountain Scafell Pike or you’d rather soak up a little poetic history at Wordsworth’s house, there really is no better alternative to the pressures of modern living than a holiday in the Lake District.
It might not be the first place you think of when you think beach break, but Bournemouth is actually a fantastic choice for a seaside jaunt. The city is full of life and there is no shortage of things to do but the main draw is the wide selection of award winning beaches. There are plenty of places to stay and a lot of the holiday rentals Bournemouth has to offer are a fair bit cheaper than similar ones in more well known coastal areas. If you need somewhere to unwind in the sun, surrounded by the sounds of gently lapping waves, then Bournemouth is the place for you!
If you’re the type of person who loves a city break and you’re in the mood to dance until dawn, then you owe it to yourself to take a trip to London. The nation’s capital is known for being one of the most vibrant cultural centres in the world, and the nightlife is something that really does need to be experienced. Whether you want an evening of class and elegance, or you just want to dance until you can’t feel your feet anymore, London has something for everyone. Not only that but there’s something rather beautiful about seeing the city lit up at night, illuminating all of the possibilities for one of the most exciting trips you’ll ever take.
