Spring 2017 look book*
It’s been a sunny day today and, although the weather has been a bit hit and miss recently (my plane home from Tenerife was delayed only yesterday due to snow in Manchester!), it feels like spring 2017 is well and truly on its way. With the warmer weather comes the (more than) welcome excuse to update your wardrobe and banish those woollens and so here are some of my top fashion picks for spring 2017.
As they are every spring, pastels will be big again this year. Think lilacs, baby blues, mint and lemon for your colour palette. The Coast range includes this gorgeous stripy dress (middle) which is perfect for a sunny afternoon tea or for a wedding guest.
I’m obsessed with metallic shoes right now as I’m a bit of a magpie and it’s nice to have a little bit of shine in your outfit. These ones from ASOS (bottom middle) are adorbs and would look amazing with the beginning of a spring tan (if the weather’s cold, let’s just fake it!) and a pastel pedicure.
Another traditional spring trend is florals and they come in both pastel (like the bottom right skirt) and bolder shades (top middle), both from Coast. I love big florals and these again are perfect for garden parties or spring weddings. I also love this Victoria Beckham shirt from Cruise (top right) which is a twist on the classic florals with pastel palm trees.
Embroidery continues to be a big trend moving into spring 2017. I love symmetrical embroidery patterns like the ones on this simple white shirt from French Connection. I don’t think you can go wrong with a white shirt at any time of the year – they’re so versatile!
