#ItsBrumas East Midlands Bloggers event*

This week I was invited to the #ItsBrumas East Midlands Bloggers Christmas party. The party was hosted by Bru Coffee & Gelato on Granby Street in Leicester and us bloggers were lucky enough to be invited along to try their Christmas menu which launches on 14th November.

Chocolate Santa
It was great to see all the usual crowd, plus meet some bloggers that I hadn’t before and we soon got stuck in to pass the parcel (where I won a chocolate Santa – yay!) and a Christmas quiz which really got us feeling festive. Then it was time for secret Santa which I think I’m right in saying didn’t stay secret for very long! My lovely Secret Santa was Tiffany from Frost in Space who is amazing at buying presents! My haul included mini cactus candles (adorable!) a paint you own mug (so cute!) and lilac sparkly socks (love!).

And then it was the moment we’d all been waiting for – time to try the Christmas menu! First of all there was a selection of hot drinks including spiced orange hot chocolate, cookies and cream hot chocolate and a gingerbread latte. All the drinks come with a treat on top – chocolate orange segment, Oreo, and a mini gingerbread man. I love a gingerbread latte, usually from Starbucks or Costa, but this one was SO MUCH BETTER. There was a little extra kick to it (I think cinnamon?) which just tipped it over the edge and it was my favourite of the three drinks.

And, oh the cakes! I had skipped dinner to save plenty of room to taste all the cakes and I was pleased I did as there were SO MANY. The cakes included a black forest roulade, gingerbread cheesecake, cherry and biscotti, and a chocolate bundt cake. All of which were pretty amazing but my favourite was the gingerbread cheesecake (can you see a theme developing here?!) – amazing! In the end, I was defeated and ended up taking some home to a very happy boyfriend.

Notice the red glow from cameras – this is what happens at a blogger event!

Massive thanks to Bru Coffee & Gelato for hosting #ItsBrumas and Emmie from Carpe Diem Emmie and Kirstie from Behind The Scent for organising everything. Make sure you pop in after 14th November to try these festive delights.
