Holidays and the Fear Of Being Away (FOBA)*
Obviously I adore going on holiday (you totally wouldn’t have guessed from my blog). Sun, sea, sand, cocktails, food, exploring – the list of great things about travelling is endless! So far this year I’ve already visited Dublin, Dubai, Portugal and Ibiza and I’ve got a trip to Skiathos coming up in September (yay!). When you also have your own house, there’s no end to the worries you get from being on holiday – the Fear Of Being Away or FOBA! Did I leave the straighteners on? What about the gas? Did I lock the door? The car?
And that’s just the things to remember at home – there’s also work. Did I mention certain things to my team, will campaigns be going live on time, did I put my out of office on? No wait, of COURSE I did – it’s almost the best thing about going on holiday! I like to leave work early the day before my holiday and so at 4pm sharp, I whack on the out of office!
If you’ve got pets, that’s just one more thing to worry about! I’ve put Alfie in kennels once but I would never do it again. When I went to pick him up, all you could hear was barking and it just seemed like a horrible environment. From now on, I’m only booking him in with home boarders so that he can feel at home and get plenty of attention (like he’s already used to!).
It usually takes a few days to forget about everything at home and just relax into your holiday so if you’ve only got a week then you can’t afford to waste that time worrying.
The Panasonic Smart Home system monitors and secures your home in minutes which gives you the peace of mind you need to relax on holiday.
