East Midlands Blogger Meet Up, Chesterfield

East Midlands blogger meet up

I have a confession to make. The Chesterfield meet up for the East Midlands bloggers was supposed to be hosted by me. However, I did a truly terrible job of trying to organise things for the girls that the wonderful Ellie Kathleen had to step in and take over. Ellie did an absolutely wonderful job of organising the third East Midlands blogger meet up and despite quite a few drop outs, we all managed to make it to Giorgio’s Italian Restaurant on Sheffield Road.

Although I live in Chesterfield, it’s not an area of the town that I know well and so I’d never even heard of Giorgio’s before. It was a traditional Italian, decorated in a coffee shop/wine bar style and with an open kitchen and a wood burning pizza oven. We were greeted with glasses of wine and the extensive menu. There was plenty of choice of the usual pizzas and pastas and I chose my favourite (don’t say I’m becoming predictable!) – Linguine al Fruti Di Mare, seafood pasta.

Witch Skincare

We were also provided with skincare samples from Witch* – their Gentle Exfoliating Face Wash and Overnight Clearing Serum. I was really pleased about this as I’d never tried any of their range before. Both of these products are lovely and feel really fresh on your skin and I especially love the Overnight Clearing Serum which specifically targets blemishes while you sleep.

Giorgio's Seafood Pasta

The food was delicious and there were many clean plates. My pasta was packed with yummy prawns, squid and mussels which is always a massive bonus – I hate it when restaurants skimp on the seafood (spoiler alert: see my review of Nonna’s in Chesterfield, coming soon)! Some people even managed a pudding but, as I was “strictly” on my holiday diet, I politely declined and instead chose to consume my calories in liquid form in another glass of wine!

There were some new bloggers joining us this time – in fact, the only person that I’d met before was Ellie, so it was lovely to get to know some new faces that live locally. It’s always awkward at blogger meet ups at first but we soon got chatting about all things blogging and the usual subjects of course came up – taking photographs, monetising your blog, etc. I love meeting new bloggers and making friends, and you always have at least one thing in common – blogging!

After the meal, we headed our separate ways and Ellie and I went to Casa Hotel, where Ellie was staying the night, for a cocktail. The atmosphere in the hotel bar was really nice – it was quite busy but not rowdy – and it was the perfect end to a great night.

Massive thank you to Ellie for organising everything amazingly where I should have done!
