#bloggersball, London

I ditched the ball gown in favour of an LBD, didn’t fancy running round London like Cinderella!

The obligatory selfie!

If you’re a blogger yourself, you’ll know that there was a HUGE event on Saturday in central London. The #bloggersball, hosted by the lovely Scarlett London was the follow up to last year’s #bloggersfestival and was held at DSTRKT, a central London bar located just off Oxford Street. I always get nervous when going to blogger events, especially as I was arriving on my own this time, but I needn’t have worried as everyone was lovely and I soon got into the swing of things. I’d been looking forward to the #bloggersball for months and now it was finally here!

I got there early which was a good job as the event proved to be super popular, with bloggers galore swarming round the entire venue. In fact, I think it was the busiest event I’ve been to so far and I did feel a little overwhelmed at times! There were cocktails, wine, sweet treats and canopes on offer throughout the day, of which I (obviously) helped myself to a couple! The halloumi was a particular fave. I met up with friends from various blogs including Poppy from Poppy Field, Lana from Fashion Fake, Lauren from Blonde Vision, Laura from Loved by Laura. It was lovely to catch up with them, some of whom I hadn’t seen for almost a year!

Boho Betty

The event was super chilled with no talks or specific times to be anywhere which meant that there were plenty of opportunities for networking with both fellow bloggers and the stallholders. There were also plenty of competitions to take part in on the day. My particular favourites were the style challenges – Boho Betty’s where you had to create a stack of bracelets using just three of their products and Bon Prix’s where you had to pick your faves from their spring/summer 16 collection and take Instagram pics with them. These really added a fun, competitive element to the event and helped me get to know the brands better. I even got to have my nails done at the Just Beauty stand which was pretty much perfect timing as my Shellac had just come off a couple of days before.

I came away, as you always do from these events, with tonnes of goodies from the various companies that I’d spoken too, all of which I’m sure will find there way onto my Instagram feed before too long! Massive thank you to the following brands for their gifts and samples – So..? (perfumes and body sprays), Exuviance (skincare), Boho Betty (bracelet), Bravura London (skincare), Just Beauty UK (nails) Vatika (hair), Seed and Bean Chocolates (delicious mocha chocolate bar…started and fully consumed BEFORE I started my diet on Monday!), Bon Prix (goodie bag with scarf, pineapple cup and lip balm), Eversfield Organic Garm (pastrami), Monin (ingredients for espresso martinis PLUS leftover vodka and Tia Maria which Poppy and I got given when we happened to be in the right place at the right time).

I had an amazing at the #bloggersball and enjoyed every minute. I was absolutely exhausted when I got home and fell asleep at about 9pm – always the sign of a good event!

As it’s June now, the events are really ramping up for summer and I’ve got three more to go to this week. Check back here or keep an eye on my Facebook page to see my write-ups of the #NottsTweetUp, Weleda event and the Style Loft opening party.
