Autumn Tag

Although I am missing summer terribly (I love sunbathing in the back garden in my bikini and not worrying about whether to bring a jumper or a coat with me when I go out), I do enjoy the autumn and I’m currently loving the extreme windy and rainy weather thanks to Hurricane Gonzalo – only because I’m cosy inside!

I’ve been tagged by Life as Summer (well not personally, but she did tag EVERYONE, so I took that to mean me!) to do the Autumn Tag which loads of bloggers have been taking part in. So here we go…

1. Favourite Starbucks drink

It’s one of my pet hates in life that I don’t drink coffee. I love the smell of it but hate the taste and I would love nothing more than to swan around between my appointments with a Starbucks in my hand and I love the special Christmas flavours that they bring out – Gingerbread Latte anyone? But I just can’t. So I’d have to say a plain old English Breakfast tea or a yummy hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows.

2. Favourite music to listen to in autumn

You’re going to think I’m insane but I’m not crazy into music. I like listening to big tunes on the radio but I don’t really buy albums or have a favourite band or anything like that. I like 80s music and Motown and I’m loving Ed Sheeran’s new stuff at the moment.

3. Autumn scent?

My perfume of the moment is Noelle by Benefit. It’s quite musky with rich tones which is perfect for autumn.

4. Favourite Autumn lip product

In autumn, I ramp up the use of lip balm. The central heating plus the cold weather plus the heating in the car and office is really drying for my lips and so I like to keep them nourished. I’ve been using some Joules lip balms. I can’t quite kiss goodbye to nude and coral lipsticks now that summer’s over. I’ve been wearing Youngblood’s Mimosa and Lippy Girl’s Hot Diggity Yam recently.

5. What do you love most about autumn?

I love buying chunky knitwear and cosying up on the sofa under the blanket with Mr P, the puppy and a boxset. The hot chocolates, Halloween and Bonfire Night don’t go amiss either!

6. Accessories?

I crack out the scarves for autumn – not the full-on woolly ones yet of course. They can really punctuate an outfit and my favourite is a grey one with butterflies which I was given as a present. I’d also love to invest in a floppy hat a la Rosie Fortescue.

7. Favourite Halloween movie?

I used to really love cult classic The Craft. When I was about 15, my friends and I all thought we were really alternative and this was our inspiration. I still love it for that nostalgia.

8. Favourite nail polish?

I love to wear darker blues, greys, browns, blacks and reds in autumn. Some of my faves are the deep-purple-almost-black Vinylux shade in Regally Yours and Keeping Suzy at Bay, a gorgeous royal blue from OPI.

9. What am I looking to most this autumn?

I am most looking forward to my family’s fireworks night. Everyone buys fireworks and we compete to see whose are the best. My mum cooks delicious hot dogs, pies and jacket potatoes – proper comfort food – and I make bonfire toffee. And I always write my name with a sparkler – perfect!

Inspired by this post, I’m going to spend tonight snuggling under a blanket with the puppy while I work on my blog.
If you do this tag, tweet me your links @PrincessP100 – I’d love to read what your favourite things about autumn are!

I’m going to tag: My bestie Emma Louise from Emma Louise Dreams, Emma from Doll Face Blogs and Steph from Lay It Bare. If I’ve not mentioned you but you’re a blogger reading this, then I also tag you!

You’ll be saving a fortune by not drinking coffee! Autumn is such a lovely time of year. I completely agree with wearing chunky knitwear and cuddling on the soft!
