The Liebster Award
A huge thank you to Lauren at Modest London (one of my very favourite London blogs) for my nomination for the Liebster Award. This award is a way of recognising blogging talent who are still working on growing a following – a little way of giving each other a bit of a high five! It’s difficult to get any recognition in the blogging world, I’ve been doing this for five years and still have a tiny following, and so I definitely need all the help I can get!
The rules are:
- Thank and link back to the blogger who so kindly nominated you
- Answer the 11 questions they have asked you
- Nominate bloggers who have a following of <200 on Bloglovin’
- Ask them 11 questions
- Notify the nominees
So here we go…
What inspired you to start blogging?
I started blogging because I absolutely loved writing and fashion and beauty and I had no other outlet at the time to do it. It was before blogging became what it is today and so it was kind of a secret of mine (you’ll see why if you read my early posts!). Once upon a time it was my dream to be the editor of a fashion magazine and this was the closest I could get.
What aspect of owning a blog have you found most difficult?
The most difficult thing I’ve found about blogging is just getting people to read it! I struggling a lot at first with putting my blog out there and I was so scared about what people would think of it, but now I’m pretty confident with my writing and so I don’t tend to worry so much. My blog also goes through stages where it’s getting a lot of views and then ones where it doesn’t get any so I’d love this to be more consistent.
What aspect of owning a blog have you found most rewarding?
I absolutely love meeting new people and my blog has helped me to do that both virtually on Twitter, Instagram, etc and in real life with blogger events and meet ups. I also love looking back through my blog as it’s like my diary it holds so many memories and I can see how much I’ve developed over time.
What post are you most proud of?
Oooh this is a tough one! I guess I’m most proud of my epic fail posts because they’ve not been supported by brands or anything like that but have still managed to be some of my successful posts. Check out The Holiday From Hell to see what I’m talking about.
Who is your favourite blogger right now and why?
There are so many! This is going to sound super cheesy but my favourite blogger actually is Lauren at Modest London who nominated me! I love reading her blog for tips for cheap things to do and places to eat in the capital and I think it’s a great idea for those who can’t afford to go out in Mayfair every night.
Who would you most like to collaborate on a post with?
I’ve yet to work with a fashion brand, even though I’ve been working with various beauty brands for years and I’d love to do something with some graduate designers or something like that.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Everybody laughs at me because every time I see any other country on TV or in a magazine, I’ll want to go there no matter where it is. Top of my list at the moment is Australia and I’m trying to persuade Mr P to let us go next year!
Where in the world feels most like home?
London feels like my home even though I’ve never lived there! I’m there a few times a month for work or for fun and I get so excited when I arrive and feel really down when I leave. I’d really love to live there and who knows, maybe one day I might.
If you were to have only one aim in life, what would it be?
My aim in life is just to be as successful as I can be. I believe how hard you work is proportionate to what you will achieve and so you only have yourself to blame if you don’t achieve everything you want to out of life. It sounds cheesy but my aim is just to be happy and I am right now!
What will your next post be about?
My next post will be about the three places to visit that are on my bucket list – it’s a competition that Transun are running for bloggers and the prize is a trip to see the Northern Lights in Iceland…you know what I was saying about wanting to go everywhere?!
And finally, would you rather have a) no arms or b) the head of a goat that could see through walls?
Hmmm, I don’t think I could live without my arms and so it’s have to be the head of a goat. It’d be pretty handy to see through walls as well!
So that’s it! My nominees are:
- My bestie Emma at Emma Louise Dreams
- Katie at The Hostel Girl
- Divya from What Divya Thinks
- Laura from Inside Laura’s Head
- Brighton Girl Problems
