Review: Vinylux by CND, spring collection*

CND Vinylux Spring Collection
CND Vinylux’s gorgeous Spring Collection
When these dropped through my door (well actually, I had to collect them from a neighbour – thanks number 31!) I could barely contain my excitement. Yes, I’ve used CND’s Vinylux before – it’s been available for a couple of years – but oh my goodness, look at those colours! Absolutely perfect for spring, these pastels range from pearly pinks to pair blues, nudes and mauves.
I was so overwhelmed at first that I couldn’t decide which to wear – so I put them all on for a gorgeous pastel rainbow manicure!

Sometimes when you paint your nails, the colours aren’t the same as they appear in the bottles. This is not the case here – the colours are just as beautiful on the nails. My fave shades from the range are the pale blue Thistle Thicket (see below) and the bright coral/shrimp Salmon Run – seen above on the little fingers.

I wore Thistle Thicket during a trip to London last week
And this shimmery green Wild Moss made my nails perfect for a trip to see Wicked on the West End.

Wild Moss is the perfect colour to wear to the Emerald City!
Vinylux is the nail polish by CND, the nail geniuses who brought us Shellac (my favourite gel polish). It’s claim to fame is it’s seven day chip free wear however, I wasn’t all that impressed with its staying power. It pretty much chipped the morning after I’d applied giving me a grand total of 10 hours of chip free wear – which is great for a night out! Of course, I’m not a professional so I could probably blame my technique (or lack thereof) for this.
But staying power is not really want I want from my nail polish – I have Shellac for that. I want my nail varnish to be as changeable as my mind (that’s a woman’s prerogative after all!) and if I have to sacrifice long-lasting for these beautiful colours then I’m all for it.
I’ve yet to find a polish that has true long lasting stay power, have you? Let me know your recommendations!

Edit: I’ve booked in to have Vinylux done on Tuesday 10th February at the #LFWRetreat so I’ll let you know how I get on when it’s done by a professional!

Loving the colours! I have quite the collection of Nail Polish, one for every mood hehe. The only one that I have found with staying power is rimmel precious stones, so so pretty. x
