Packing list for an autumn/winter staycation
I love a UK staycation during the autumn and winter months for a number of reasons. First of all, you’re not reliant on the weather as you’re not really expecting it to be great so you’re not disappointed when it’s cold or rainy. Second of all, there’s nothing better than cosying up in your holiday cottage or swish hotel room with a hot chocolate or cup of tea after a busy day exploring the local area. However, the changeable weather can make it difficult to know what to pack, so I’ve put together this list of items that you need in your overnight bag for an autumn/winter staycation…
Some smart boots
If it’s a city break you’re after, then you’ll need a smart pair of boots to keep your feet warm when pounding the pavements. This pair from Hidden Fashion are the staple patent black boots with a bit of a witchy twist – perfect for October! They have a point at the front and buckles on the side for biker-chick cool and they’re actually really comfy so great for walking around a city all day.
A smart pair of boots will also go down well if you’re staying in the countryside but you’re off out for a nice meal at night time. These ones will look equally cute with tights and a mini dress.
A down jacket
A down jacket will keep you super warm when you’re on your day time hike. I love these they’re quite thin so you can really layer them up when you’re out and about so that you can keep warm but easily peel off a couple of layers if you get too hot. This makes them perfect for both autumn and winter. Simply Hike have a wide range of down jackets to choose from.
A bobble hat
Obviously for the colder month, you need lots of knitwear to keep you warm. One of the places you lose a lot of warmth is through your head and so a bobble hat is a stylish way to keep cosy. I’m a huge fan of a bobble hat and I’ll be wearing mine throughout autumn and winter.
As I mentioned before, one of my favourite things about autumn/winter staycations is the opportunity to snuggle up and get cosy after you’ve finished your day of exploring and what better t relax in than some gorgeous matching loungewear?! This camouflage set from Hidden Fashion is absolutely perfect for chilling out in – I’d even wear it to the airport!
