Oscars 2015: Best and Worst Dressed
Last night saw the biggest stars in Hollywood take to the red carpet for the Academy Awards. As much as I would have loved to stay awake live tweeting my way through the outfits, I can barely keep my eyes open past 9pm and so there’s little chance of that happening! So, here’s my pick of the best and worst dressed of the night and by the way, I’m not agreeing with everything the magazines say!
Here are my favourite dresses of the night…

Without a doubt my favourite look of the Oscars 2015, Emma Stone looks positively regal in her adorned Ellie Saab gown. I’ve loved her ever since she was that geek in The House Bunny and her vibrant hair and lips make for a gorgeous make-up look against her alabaster skin. I can even forgive her for THAT crotch malfunction (oops).

Another of my favourite actresses, Anna Kendrick really gets it right with this coral coloured Thakoon dress and grown-up up-do. Showing just the right amount of flesh with the little peekaboo on the cleavage area, she looks like a beautiful Grecian goddess.

This boho chick looks grown up and gorgeous in this navy and black Oscar de la Renta gown. Fitted and floor length it shows off her stunning figure and I’m also loving her sculpted cheek bones and the eyeliner flicks making her eyes pop.
Other things I loved
– Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent
– Jenna Dewan Tatum’s gorgeous white Zuhair Murad Couture plunge neckline dress
– Dakota Johnson’s understated look
Ok, so some of these are not exactly the very worst dressed of the night, but they are ones that I expected to do better (almost like a disappointed parent when their child has got a B rather than an A in Maths)!

Jennifer Aniston is well known for her amazing figure and I just don’t think that this Versace gown does anything for her. Maybe it’s the way she’s standing or the unforgiving lines over the stomach area but it doesn’t make the most of what we all know is an incredible body.
|Marion Cotillard image courtesy of Just Jared|
I’m usually a huge fan of Ms Cotillard’s fashion sense (I picked her as one of my best dressed for the 2013 BAFTAs where she took a huge risk that paid off in dividends in canary yellow Dior) but I’m not a fan of this look. Too billowy and shapely from the back, I don’t adore this Dior gown’s drop waist feature.

She is pregnant and I can’t deny that she looks as gorgeous as ever – she’s glowing and her hair and make-up is really on point but I’m not keen on the overly floaty style of this Valentino Couture number. I think it makes her look absolutely massive and it sort of reminds me of the Kim Kardashian carpet monstrosity that she donned whilst pregnant.
Other things I didn’t love
– Reese Witherspoon’s huge forehead
– Chloe Moretz’s huge gown which had way too much material
– Rosamund Pike’s red lace number – more underwear than outerwear
Let me know your best and worst dressed of the night!
