November beauty favourites

So, I’m going to start to do something different on my blog from November. I get sent so many beauty products that it’s difficult to write about them all and to give them all individual reviews so I’ve decided to write about them all in one favourites post per month. I’ll begin the post when I have tried out a couple of products and then I’ll add to it throughout the month as more things come in. Everything featured in this post has been sent out to me for review and not purchased myself.

Let me know how you feel about this new feature in the comments below.

Rimmel London

Rimmel London Only 1 Matte Lipstick

Rimmel London’s new lipstick range is designed to stay matte (because gloss is so 90s) whilst not drying out your lips, which can be a problem, especially in winter. The lipstick is easy to apply, gliding on smoothly and coverage is great. The lipstick comes in a range of nine brilliant shades which translates really well from the stick to your lips. My favourite colour is Salute, a light salmon pink (top right on the image), and I wore the bright purple Run The Show (bottom left) on Halloween.

Dermalogica eye cream

Dermalogica Age Reversal Eye Complex

My very favourite skincare brand is back with an awesome eye cream. I’ve been looking for one for ages and so I was super pleased when I got sent this one. It’s really important, now that I’m approaching 30, to use an eye cream that’s separate to my moisturiser and that has anti-ageing properties. This new formula uses microencapsulation technology to reverse the signs of ageing including fine lines and wrinkles, puffiness, dark circles and dryness and I am loving it so far.

Toppik Brows

Toppik Brow Building Fibres

Ah, the perpetual quest for perfect, natural looking brows. I’ve been drawing my eyebrows on, colouring them in and generally enhancing them for a good few years now These Brow Building Fibres from Toppik build up your brows so that you can fill in sparse areas and make your brows look thicker and more shapely. This product reminds me a little bit of Benefit’s Browzings but the fibres give a more natural look, rather than a block colour. There is wax and an angled brush that you use to shape them and then the fibres that you apply to your brows with the bigger brush. To be honest, I had to go over my brows quite a lot with these fibres to get them to look any different so I think I may have chosen a shade too light. Warning: if you’re after a Scouse brow (not sure if anyone even has these anymore?!) then this is not the one for you.

This range is super funky – I’m a massive fan of quirky packaging and this ticks all the boxes and they have awesome product names. I was sent their Avacado and Wheat Germ Hair Mask (Phwoar! Not Straw), Lip Balm (Stop Cracking Up), Sleep Balm (Crusin’ for a snoozin’) and a pack of face masks. I’m absolutely obsessed with the lip balm at the moment – my lips are super dry thanks to the heating at home, in the office and the car and the colder weather and this lip balm is coconut-y and super smooth giving my lips the much needed boost they need.
