My New Year’s Resolutions

Now that Christmas is well and truly out of the way (sob), it’s time to look ahead to 2015 and start making plans about what I’d like to achieve for the year. I’ve already talked this week about training or learning something new but here’s my plans for the rest of the year…

1. Don’t neglect the blog!

This is my very utmost important New Year’s Resolution, especially considering where I’m writing it! I’d love to monetise my blog and do this full time, but in the meantime (before it gets super popular, that is!) I need to learn not to neglect my baby. I always use the excuse that I don’t have enough time but I need to make more time. Instead of getting home from work and snuggling up on the sofa, I’m going to spend an hour per night (at least) on the blog – writing content, finding awesome stuff to blog about, working on SEO, networking with other bloggers, etc.

2. Get myself in that gym

Eurgh, I am very reluctant with this one but it’s something that needs to be done if I ever want to get on the beach in my bikini again (and I definitely do!). I’ve not set foot in a gym for over two years and so really it’s about time. I need to understand that I’m not 18 anymore and so my metabolism is just not as good as it used to be. And there’s no point pretending that I’m going to go on a diet as I love my food way too much (catch The Greedy Girl’s Guide to Dieting here). Plus, it’s a good excuse to buy some new Nike Airs and some nice work out clothes.

3. Make more of an effort to see my friends

Even though I’m doing something most evenings, sometimes I can go for a while without seeing my core group of friends that I’ve known since school. We’re all so busy with jobs, babies, boyfriends, etc, but we’re making a plan to get a date in the diary every month where we can see each other, starting with a January kick off meeting. Even though we don’t see each other all the time anymore, we’re still really close and I definitely know that I can rely on any of them if I need to.

4. #BookClub

So, I’ve managed to start #BookClub on the blog with reviews of all the books I’m reading but I’d love to start a real life book club where we get together every couple of weeks to discuss what we’ve read. I’ve been talking about this with my best friend, Emma from Emma Louise Dreams, for the longest time but I’d love to make this a reality this year.

Have you got any great New Year’s resolutions? Let me know in the comments!
