Living room makeover with Inspired Wallpaper*
Since my boy moved in with me (yay!) we’ve been slowly but surely doing bits and bobs to the house to make it really feel like our home so when I was offered some wallpaper by Inspired Wallpaper, I jumped at the chance.
It took me about a million years to decide which wallpaper I wanted from the website as there were so many styles and colours. When it comes to home decor I’m a minimalist, cream kinda gal and so I was umming and ahhing over several neutral styles. My boyfriend persuaded me that, for a feature wall, we should go for something a bit more noticeable and I took a big gulp and agreed. In hindsight, I could have considered primetimepaint.ca as they seem pretty cool!
We chose the Utopia Gold Effect Feature Wall Paper as it was in my second favourite interior colour, gold. The paper arrived and it was thick and luxurious and the pattern was just beautiful with flowers, humming birds and butterflies in pink tones all over it.
So, one morning I headed off to work and my boyfriend with the (much needed) help of his dad, proceeded to wallpaper a feature wall in the living room. I chose the wall opposite the juliet balcony so that you could see the wallpaper from outside and also because it was the easiest wall with the least stuff on it to move(!). Apparently it was quite stressful putting the paper up (luckily I was in the office so missed out on this!), especially around the kitchen doors, but I think it looks amazing and my lovely boy and his dad have managed to match the pattern up perfectly.
This wallpaper really warms up the room and I think it makes the house look a little more design-led and just gives the living room a little something extra. Next we may have to think about changing the furniture in the living room. To get it to match the new wallpaper, we’ll look for some custom furniture los angeles, customising your furniture is ideal to ensure that the whole room ties together nicely!
Our next home improvement project is my dressing room (actually can’t wait for the Instagram pics!) where we might decide to paper one of the walls in the same wall paper. We’re also going to frame the off-cuts and put them up around the house to carry the theme through. Home sweet home!
