July and August 2017 events
This is a bit of a late post as I seem to have blinked and it’s now September – WHAT?! I’ve been super busy all summer, not least of which attending various events, openings and preview nights so here’s what I’ve been getting up to…
Beauty Temple, Nottingham
Possibly the most beautiful beauty salon I’ve ever visited, we were pampered all night at the Beauty Temple event in Mapperley. There were delicious nibbles plus their signature glitter bomb cocktails on hand which looked incredible – they were full of glitter! The salon actually has a cocktail menu for when you’re getting your treatments which I think is an amazing idea. I got my nails done, and festival hair and glitter. We also got a lovely goody bag with some Vinylux nail varnish in it.
Bloggers Brunch, Derby
Organised by the lovely Monet from Munching with Monet, this bloggers brunch took place at Seven, one of my favourite restaurants in Derby. As it was brunch, I went for my fave brunch option – eggs royale and a delicious fruit smoothie. It was great to catch up with all the East Midlands bloggers and meet some new faces. Monet also brought us some rainbow cookies from Angel’s Sinfully Delicious Cookie Company – what a babe!
Cabella Make-Up Lesson, Nottingham
Cabella is the cutest little make-up studio in Nottingham city centre and not only do they do make-up, they also sell all the products they use too which could be dangerous for your bank account! We were treated to prosecco on arrival and then settled down to watch a make-up lesson. I learned lots of things – you need to wear a primer to make your foundation last, you should do your eye make-up before your face and a bit about contouring, which has always alluded me before! But most of all, I learned that I would love one of the girls from Cabella to do my make-up every day! We got a great goody bag at the event with the most amazing gold pigment ever in it.
Doughnotts Preview Evening, Derby
Originating in Nottingham (hence the name), Doughnotts has now opened on Sadler Gate in Derby. A shop selling doughnuts, what’s not to like?! Again, we were greeted with prosecco on arrival (top marks!) and treated to a delicious doughnut. I chose the red velvet doughnut which was incredible. A lot of the doughnut options are vegan and the basic doughnuts are three for £5 with the luxury doughnuts being two for £5. I also took my boy one of the Snickers doughnuts which had a caramel centre and it definitely got his approval.
And the events don’t stop there! I’ve already got an event at Pitcher and Piano in Derby to look forward to next week, followed by one at 400 Rabbits in Nottingham the week after. Check out my Instagram stories to see what I get up to.
